My son and I fished this AM. Water quality was great, water temp got up to 84. Water level a few feet down from the overflow. We caught 15 really nice bass from about 6:45 - 10:30 or so. My son caught one with a frog going through the pads on the first cast, I followed up with a few on texas lizards. If you love top lily pad fishing, this place is for you. The pads here look like floating large pizzas. You could spend all day cast up and down the shore line with frogs/rats. We did our best sitting in about 10-15 feet of water and casting rattle traps back close to the pads and bringing back to the boat. Strong strikes. We caught 2 dinks, but the rest were in the 2-4, and Hayden probably caught a 5, didn't weigh it, but it was real nice.
First time to this lake, but will be back. Only 95 miles from Frisco and easy drive early AM. Grass was not too bad at all, a few spots the coontail was thick, but we spent most of the day with traps and didn't spend the day cleaning lures. Awesome property. We would have fished longer, but trolling battery was losing power and didn't feel like paddling back to truck.
