My wife Laura and I fished Saturday the 11th from 6:15 am till around 11 am. We ended up catching only 4 fish, she caught 3 with 2 at 16" and I caught 1 around 14" We ended up keeping 2 undersized fish. We tried frogs to start and had no bites, no blowups or anything and we went completely around the lake throwing them. She caught hers on homemade senkos and my one was on frog later in morning after I hit it on the head.
The water was extremely murky green and had about 6" visibility. Lots of floating weeds, it look like they had been cut and were just floating loose, not attached to bottom at all. there were no weed beds anywhere like there used to be, just the loose floating kind. Water had no visibility to see down to see any more weeds growing. There was a lot of the little green balls floating in it and some swirls of different colored green clouds just under the surface. Topwater was non existent and there was no activity on the water at all till around 10 and then there were a few splashes around the bank.
Water is up to bottom of pier so it will be great in the fall.
The cows spent the morning having fun with my truck and the site boat. Used a 10' pond prowler and with Laura and I it was great, lots of room and the swivel seats kept our backs and legs from getting sore.
Great day to be out on the water and always enjoy fishing with my wife.
