My two grown sons Brian and Michael and I finally got our schedules together for a fun day on the lake bass fishing. We reserved the morning slot (sunrise to noon). None of us got more than 3 hours of sleep before leaving my house at 4AM! Last spring we fished together in one boat and it was a bit crowded, so this time we took my little boat and used the club’s little aluminum boat at the lake also. We tied the two boats together with my boat and trolling motor pulling the other - it worked great. Brian and I had "doubles." And we all caught fish! Brian caught the first fish, Michael caught the biggest (4.5 pounds) and the most (7). Brian caught 6 and me 6. So it was 7 to 6 to 6, but who’s counting? lol We all missed several fish, but that’s why it’s called “Fishing" and not "Catching.” Super flukes worked great for these rookie anglers, and I caught a few on buzzbaits and Senkos.

No mishaps with the truck, boat or trailer. A safe trip coming and going and on the water – thank you, Lord. Susan made a great picnic lunch for us (thanks, Honey!). Morning was nice and clear but it was hot by 10am. Looking forward to fishing together there again in the fall when it’s cooler.

Michael's biggest ever - 4.5 lbs.

Dad and Brian doubled.
