4 of us fished both Dogwood lakes 4/11 and 4/12 and had a great time.  Our four largest went 5.5, 6.2 and 8.9.  We saw several large fish spawning that we just could not get to bite.  My nephew, John Mehlmann, caught his personal best, an 8.9, hand lining a shaky head from the bank.  He saw the fish on a bed.  To avoid detection, he approached her very slowly along a treeline having to squat down like a catcher to hand pitch the shaky head into the nest because the rod would have certainly spooked her.  It took John 45 minutes but it finally paid off.  We saw 3 fish at least as large as her and one that was much larger.  Both lakes are fantastic.  The property is immaculate and the boats are very nice and clean.
