The trip to Six O is now shorter thanks to chisholm toll road.  Only truck on road in am and only one in pm.  Got there caught a few from the dock then loaded the pontoon and headed out.  Wind blowing straight from southeast which makes it a difficult fish.  Dragging my anchor on 40' of rope didn't help much.  After 20 minutes on the water the sky begins to rumble and I turn the boat back to dock.  Nothing worse than sitting in a frying pan in an electrical storm.  Rained for 15 minutes then headed out again.  Finally found the answer to the fish by dragging a lizard with an 1/8 ounce weight.  Some fish are still on beds but caught some nice spawned out females.  In all we caught 35 bass of which my barber received 20 of them last night.  Largest fish was around 5 pounds the other 14 we returned were 2 to 4 pounds. Lake is looking good lots of water, weeds just below surface and water crystal clear except near cove where they are laying a pipeline. That cove maybe 2 feet visibility. No top water bite except for one blowup. Everything on plastics. Cold front blew through and bass had lockjaw.  Good day and a free haircut for me and my grandson. Steve you said in a early post that Six O turned the corner, no it has gone around the block.  Back in early 2000's the fish at Six O had big heads and no body.  They now look healthy and strong, thanks.

Thanks Bob. You would know about Six O Ranch. You fished that place when the fish were so thin it was scary. Today, I think I like growing them more than catching them!

Chilly start ending in sunburned thighs!

Fished with fellow member Dr. Todd all day Sunday. Cloudy, very chilly and slow morning. We caught about 5 between 6:30 and 11. All of these were over 15” and caught on soft baits. The afternoon warmed and our luck heated up as well. We landed 25 bass on mostly fat, black 8” Zoom worms. 2 weighed 3.5 lbs each. Awesome afternoon after an iffy morning.
