Had pretty good day at alysha ranch saturday but costly. First the fishing. Caught about 16 or 17. Had 10 harvest fish and rest over the slot and released. Fished from 10 to about 4. Only bait could get a bite on was a bubble gum yamamato d shad which is similiar to a fluke but I like better because I like the quiver it has when it falls. Fished first two hours without a bite. Water temp was around 68 but water was very murky maybe foot of visibility. Road was dry though so getting down there ok. No spinnerbait bite or anything else. Now for the expensive part. On way down there I had to slam on brakes quickly because was about to miss my exit in mt vernon. In bed of my truck I had my rods also with my spare battery which ive never even used. Battery rolled up against cab breaking rod tips on all 3 of my casting rods. Two were g loomis and one castaway. One of g loomis was a nrx model. I was sick. Broke my old castaway little bit more and used it as makeshift rod i guess. Some one posted about expensive trip recently believe was to timber lake. Believe me I feel your pain but I did catch some fish. Gonna take my rods and see if can be repaired. One tip can give if you own a g loomis and break one theyre still worth money. Place where i bought the nrx said they have some thing with g loomis where you can apply broken one towards new one. Pretty sure mine are dead though

Jay,

Go to this link: G. Loomis Xpeditor Program. Loomis will send you a brand new NRX in a rod tube (shipping included) for $100. A prepaid shipping label will come in the tube. Just take the new rod out, slap the prepaid label on the tube, put the broken rod in, and ship it back. $100 is a lot better than $500 for a new NRX.

Jay,

Tough luck… I feel your pain. I usually lock down my battery but it still moves around a bit, and more than once I've found my rods bent almost to the point of breakage. I don't have G. Loomis but I found recently that a busted tip on a 13 Envy hurts too!  Hope G. Loomis makes you whole quickly!

First of all, I would have been sick Jay!  I can just see it happening too.  What a deal.

I also love the Xpeditor program.  You get to use it once, per rod, no questions asked.  Their goal is to have you back on the water using your G Loomis rods as quickly as possible and I'd have to say it does just that.  The blank for the NRX surely costs the $100.  Take the exact number off of the rod when you call them and they will replace it with the same model.

Funny story….  If you sent it in for an "inspection" and they deemed the rod did need to be replaced you have to pay the $25 inspection fee and it actually costs you MORE than just using the Xpiditor.

Its a great service if you own any of their high end stuff.

Jackson

P.S.  Hey Jay…..  Maybe get rid of that battery.  wink

Talked someone at Xpiditor program yesterday. Sending me out a new NRX and new GL2 today. Funny story about the NRX. I had a GL3 last year I had a line guide replaced on. My wife went and picked it up for me and slammed it in truck door accidentally and broke it. Told her was gonna buy one I wanted to replace it didn’t know about Xpiditor program. The NRX replaced it and then that happened Saturday. Karma really stinks sometimes lol
