Fished the west lake from 7:00 until 4:30. Caught 12 bass. 5 were under 2 lbs, but I beat my old PB with a 10-01 (my first DD), a spawned-out girl that hit a black/blue flake Ribbit Frog. Also had a 6-pounder and 4 between 2 and 3 pounds, all on that Ribbit. It rained very lightly for only about 2 minutes, but the overcast lasted all day. I moved to the east lake at 3:00, but the south wind got stronger - to about 25-30 mph, so I only fished until about 4:30. Caught one 3-pounder on the same Ribbit Frog and a 1.5-pound black crappie on a white 1/8 oz Roadrunner. Three of the little ones hit a wacky-rigged Senko, but all other bass hit topwater. I missed one on a Rage-Tail craw and several on top. About half of the topwater hits were what I'd call half-hearted, but the DD and the 6 hit like they were serious about it. Two great fights! Harvested the crappie.

Thanks, guys! I forgot to mention that the water temp ranged from 68°-70°. on both lakes.

Just to set the record straight, I had my scales calibrated a couple of months after I caught this lady, and it looks like instead of weighing 9-04, she was actually my first DD - 10.1 pounds!
