Fingerling
Played hooky on Tuesday afternoon and enjoyed a 78 degree afternoon in Van Alstyne. The lake was FULL and the water was CLEAR. I could see my jig 7 feet down in that water. Caught 6 fish up to 3.4 lbs. on a very subtle bite. All were beautifully colored and healthy. The clear water required longer casts into deeper water and natural colors. Water temps ranged from 47 to 49.8 degrees under bluebird skies. I think I even had a touch of sunburn on my bald head! It was phenomenal for January!
Everything looks primed and ready for a spring growth of grass and an active spawn.
