Fingerling
It was 36 degrees at 7 a.m., surface water temperature was 46 and not a hint of wind. The lake was completely full. Ran through suspended jerk baits, black jigs with plastics and a variety of crankbaits in the first two hours with no bites. I noticed what appeared to be fish suspended over a hump in about 22 feet of water. Through the kitchen sink at them with no results. In an act of desperation I tied on a silver 4 " Hopkins Spoon from my walleye jigging days and caught a 15 and a 16 inch fish. Air temperature warmed to 58 degrees by 10:30 and caught an additional two fish on the Hopkins Spoon and one on a Red Eye Shad crankbait. Biggest fish was 16" and all appeared to be very healthy. Plenty of ducks on the lake but no sign of Cormorants.
