Had a flight of 6 Gadwalls land near the old pier, no where close to where I was, early in the morning.  They stayed for about 20 minutes and then flew away.  At 7:40, I heard 3 shots fire in the distance to the West.  At 8:15, I heard 1 shot fired in the distance to the South.  I packed up and left at 8:30.  I spent the next hour driving around the country roads in the area.  I found at least 20 ponds and 3 lakes (all private at least 20 acres large).  On all this water, I saw a grand total of 1 duck sitting on the water.  Still waiting on the ducks to move into the area.  I am starting to see more flying around, just need them to start coming in.
