It's called Timber Lake for a reason, but the bass couldn't care less this morning. They were relating to grass, not wood. I harvested more unders than I caught overs. The biggest was 20.75", but weighted only 3-10. I was snakebit today, too…couldn't get a good hook set with my jig & pork combos. No luck on spinnerbait or on topwater except one dink that hit a twitched balsa Rapala. All but one of the overs boated hit soft plastics - either a 7" lizard ( very old Jaw-Tecs) or multicolored worms - purple with yellow tail or brown with orange tail. Two overs hit a wacky-rigged black/red flake Senko. The single exception was a 16-incher that hit a hollow body frog. The day started out calm, but the wind blew up around 9:00 or so. Water temp was 89° everywhere, and visibility was about 8'. Most of the fish I caught were in deep grass - at least 9' to almost 20'. Had some long, dry spells this morning, too. A humbling morning, to be sure - but still lots of fun!
