Caught 8 bass,the largest was 13" and 36 small to med bream.Fished 6:30am to 11:30am

The lake has come up but still about 5' low.Very little grass visable from the shore line but it was everywhere under the surface from 6" to 21/2' below the surface.Very easy to paddle around the lake which was clear.Another  2' of water would help.I used weightless lures and a fly rod.

I think that the extreme low levels for such a long period had a negative effect on the larger bass.

Joe,

I totally agree. Very low lake levels are devasting for all lakes. Look no further than Lake Falcon. When they fill back up the fishing usually rebounds, athough it can take a couple of years. Extincts of fish and other animals is too shut down or greatly slow down the reproduction process and to conserve energy in times of stress. Low water levels; causes crowding, warmer water temps and shallow water attacks from birds. These things contribute to stress.

Five years ago when Decatur Beaver Lake was full; I had a top 20 fishing day. Two of us caught 20 fish over 5 lbs and better in a morning of fishing.
