Took the family for a morning of fishing to this serene ranch just outside Waxahachie and was pleasantly surprised by how well it was kept up. 

It included a boat ramp and a floating dock; both good areas to fish from with youngsters. We fished for roughly 4 hours from the ramp, floating dock, the bank, and using the paddleboat to get into some deeper areas, and unfortunately caught only 1 crappie (roughly 4 inches).

We did change our lures frequently since we took several rods out there, and unfortunately did not get bites like we’d hoped for. The pond water was also pretty low, but that's understandable considering our record breaking heat. Despite not catching more fish, the family had a great time practicing their casting and paddling. The kids really enjoyed it regardless of the catch.
