Unfortunately, I elected to fish p.m. instead of this morning at Malouf. It was calm and overcast this morning, but strong north winds this afternoon (in bright sun and broken clouds) blew me all over the place. I boated only 4 bass:  a 16.5" in 12' of water on a old, beaten-up, deep-diving Bomber Model A, a 14" in 11' of water on a C-rig 6" purple worm with silver glitter, a 17.25"in 18 feet of water on a C-rigged black worm with red metalflake, and a 2.5" optimist on a 5/5" Fork Flutter Spoon. I hope Seth will post the photo of that one - could be a lake (or even club) record! All of the fish were in deep grass.

The ramp is out of the water, but I had no problem launching my Bass Hunter 2-man. I didn't see any potholes near the gate, but there are several places where the road is almost washed out…one is just at the top of the ramp. Water temp was 86°, and visibility was at least 12 feet. The weeds are very healthy!

Forgot to mention that I had no luck on Zara Spook, Rapala, buzz bait, chatterbait, structure spoon, plastic lizard, Rattletrap,  or frog.
