Fingerling
Fished Friday from first light to 1100, then 300 to sundown. Weather was tough for fishing as there were no clouds, no wind and very hot. Only caught 5 all day, 2 of them cull fish. Threw the whole tackle box at them but only success was on DD crank baits and flipping jigs.
Tired after a long day, and with the sun well below the horizon, I pulled the john boat up on shore and loaded my truck. In the 10 or 15 minutes that took, I went back to look at the water and my head almost exploded when I saw schooling bass boiling the water all over the open area of water about 50 yards out from the boat dock and where I’d been right before deciding to call it a day. I grabbed a pole and tied on a white buzz bait on and went walking down the dam where I caught three 3 pounders in the 20 minutes of light I had left. The schooling activity never stopped through that time as I could watch it right in front of me.
Also, as someone else said in an earlier report, watch out for wasp nests on the west arm. I counted three, all of them on stumps 2 to 3 feet high.

How frustrating….I would imagine that they were chasing some of the 12,000 shad that we put in the lake in May. Hoping those 12,000 plus their offspring are in the bellies of our beloved Timber Lake Bass.
