A friend and I fished Post Oak Fri late and Saturday morning.  Fishing was good on frogs, grubs and top waters.  Clouds and breeze kept the conditions very comfortable.

We managed to catch 73 with a few nice ones in the mix.  Weeds were abundant but manageable.  As in previous reports most of the fish were scattered throughout the middle of the lake.

Bruce. How did the new boat work as I will be fishing there in July with a quest?

Bill, I did not fish the new boat on this outing.  I think it will be challenging with the grass matting.  You need to be able to work the trolling motor very strategically to make this work.  The boat has two trolling motors (one of front and one on rear) the front one was not working (battery?) on the last outing.  You will need to be able to operate both to be able to manage the boat position.

I was operating my little Pelican Bassraider 10E on this outing and with the windy conditions it was fairly challenging.  A lot of forward thrust, reverse thrust, forward thrust maneuvers to keep the props clear.
