2nd trip after joining the club. I continue to be impressed. Great property, easy to get to and easy to launch.

It rained all morning but with no lightning or thunder I decided to make the trip. Arrived about 6 just as if was safe to see. Launched and caught a feisty 14” fish on the first cast with a yellow magic. Caught them on that, a few frog fish and a few on a worm. Made the mistake of assuming all the dead brown shorelines probably wouldn’t have fish so focused on green areas. Later I flipped a worm up shallow in all the dead stuff right below the surface. After getting bit a half dozen time like this I realized this would be a great sunny day pattern and one I want to try again soon. Also caught a bunch of peanut fish on a small trap.

The rain was constant but light. About 10 I decided I was as wet as I wanted to be so I called it a day. A fun 4 hours of fishing and the rain was so welcome.

We re-opened the lake after closing it 9 months ago, due to low water issues. The lake was 8 feet low and less than 7 acres. The lake is now just 2 feet low and more than 12 acres in size. It looks like a different lake. The concrete boat ramp is usable. Lake Bardw, ell a public lake, about 15 miles away was over 6 feet low and is now full.

With it being my first trip I don’t really have a reference but if I use the photos on the lake listing with the truck and trailer on the ramp, it’s at that same level. The 2 pieces of rebar on the right side of the photo are lying over and the unmarked piece on the left of the photo is right at the water line.
