First trip to Tarpley, afternoon of 5/22/2014.  Beautiful facility, but like most of this area, water level very low.  Caretaker told me lake level was lowest he’s seen, boat ramp approx. 3’ out of water.  Prefer tube fishing, but banks too soft to access water.  Attempted to use facility boat, however, wind and moss created many problems.  However, had good results on both large & small lake.  Caught about 10 under 14” and 5 over.  Fished Zoom Magnum Finesse worms in watermelon and Chompers Twin-Tail skirted grubs in watermelon red.  Hopefully recent rains will raise lake level.

Carl. I routinely fish Tarpley and today we received over 4” of rain. Parts of the Hill Country received over 6”. If you are back in the area and interested in a partner, let me know.

Steve. Later this week can you check with the owners of Hill Country Ranch and Gallant Elms to see what the lake levels are?

Bill,

We will check with them in a couple of days once the rain stops. Fingers crossed they came up a bunch.
