Since nobody had submitted a report up here for a long while, AND I had to go to Muenster to pick up some beef, I figured I’d swing by for an AM fish.

Water was about 72 degrees and visibility about a foot.  The deepest water I found was 3.2 feet.  The last time I fished it, we caught several dozen fish and I hooked the largest bass I’d ever seen at that point in my life.  This time I caught 3 very small Bluegills on some small spinner baits and had one pretty good hit on a buzz bait but missed him. I threw everything except soft plastics.  Tough fishing to keep the stuff on top of the weeds.

They had rain from the recent storms and a couple of the low water crossings on the gravel road leading to the lake were under water.  One of them was nearly three feet deep and I watched an old lady in her Mercedes nearly get stuck.  The pasture was fine to drive on with the recent rain, but there were spots that were a bit sticky.

The overflow pipe is at least 6-7’ from seeing water.  The actual water surface area is probably 5-6 acres.  They need enough rain to float an arc to get it back up to normal.

Went yesterday and caught five bass (four on topwaters—buzz bait, spook jr, and chug bug and one on a chatterbait)  Did see one huge bass jump and do a back flip like Shamu in the middle of the lake.  Won’t head back there until the lake is at least three feet higher.
