A pretty decent day, I got on the water about 11 and fished until 6pm. Caught and released two fish over 14” and harvested 26. The bass were all in about 2-3 feet of water. Lots of beds present, but spawn hasn’t happened yet. Ended up with 3 crappie. They were hanging in about 12’ of water.
As I went to leave, the cows were heading back to the barn and one seemed to like the taste of my truck. I laughed for a full ten minutes.

Michael,
Perhaps we might find a biologist that can explain why bovines have an affinity for trucks and cars, but I have seen portions of vehicle paint damaged by the same licking process.  I had occassion to fish Twin Lakes and the cows worked my truck over to the point that I had to have the finish buffed out in spots.
Thanks, Kirk McGowan

I should add that the some of the fish I caught were acting like they were guarding the beds, but a couple of the small fish I caught still had eggs in them.  The beds were very pronounced on the east and west ends of the lake. If it hasn’t happened yet here, it is very close.  Water temp started about 61.5 and towards the end of the day I saw some 64 degree water.  I was hoping for some bluebill action on a fly rod over the beds, but the wind foiled that plan.  Tough to throw a 3wt. in 20 kts. without 20 knots!
