Member John Kirby and I fished Timber Lake on Saturday 2/8. We arrived and put in shortly after sunrise with a low cloud deck and temps hovering around freezing. Thanks to Jackson’s report from the week before we concentrated on the dam and grassy area drop off’s and steadily landed fish all morning. The forecast had called for temps to reach the low 50’s but the clouds never burned off and we were in the 30’s for most of the day. Around 2-2:30 the fishing shut down and we maybe picked up two or three fish after that.

All in all we landed 31 with the largest fish going 6.5. We also had 1 over 5, 2 over 4 and too many nice 3’s to count; no fish were under 14”. Some fish were starting to show some bulking but most were of average size and fought like hell. On a side note we saw a HUGE boar that looked all of 250+ pounds. I’ll bet the boys in deer camp probably have em on a trail cam. Another great day with a good friend on a beautiful PWF lake.

Best Regards,
Shaun

Not sure where 2 guys could catch 31 fish in those conditions; anywhere but Timber lake.

Fantastic execution you guys.  I think the average size of the fish is creeping up as expected because we only had two culls and you guys didn’t have any.  That’s sixty fish with only two unders?  Last year there would have been more than that.  For comparison sake, I fished the same weekend less than an hour away on Cypress Springs and with over thirty of us in the tournament, eight fish were caught.  The cold snap really shut them down.  Kudos to you two for a successful day.
