When I was living in Texas I used to fish Triple J at least twice
a year. Right next to the lake on the northeast corner there is
an abandoned swimming pool. I was looking at Triple J on Bing maps and I just noticed that the pool was built to look like
the State of Texas! I never noticed that when I was standing
next to the pool at ground level.

Have a Happy New Year

Still there. I was out there last week. It’s filled with some pretty ugly looking water, and in general is falling apart. but you can walk around the entire state of TX in 30 seconds. I did think it was an odd location for a pool. It’s not near any other structures.

Forgot to mention that on the aerial image the pool seemed to be filled to the top with water so guess the photo was probably taken in late spring. When I have been out there the pool was never more than 1/4 full. As a side note, in my 12 years of fishing Triple J I never met the property owner nor anyone who worked at the ranch.

I’ve been in club almost 2 years haven’t ever met land owner or anyone either saw someone riding tractor there once. Was curious what’s largest fish caught out there that anyone has heard of? I’ve caught a couple in 5 lb range lots of 2 and 3 lb fish nothing bigger. I’ve kinda thought has to be big fish in there somewhere with tilapia in the lake.Lots of quality fish in there very few small fish

I was fishing with a friend of mine
at Triple J and he caught a 9 pounder.
This was about 8 years ago.

One of our members showed me a picture, this weekend while I was exhibiting at the Dallas Safari Club of a 7lb fish he caught this Spring. There are some good fish in the lake, but most of the fish caught are 2 to 3 lbs. Most members catch 10 to 20 in a 1/2 day of fishing. Ferris Triple J is as popular as any lake in the club. Its close, inexpensive and the fishing is good.

Be sure to try the overflow pond just to the east of the main lake. I have
caught some nice sized bass in there too.

A couple of things about triple J.  Last time I was there the overflow pond was dry.  Should be some monster bass in this lake.  I was fishing it in the spring and school after school of 4 to 5 inch shad were running the length of the dam.  The schools were in the hundreds and the bass were attacking them and driving them to the bank.
