At 6:15 this morning, it sounded like we were at an airport with the dozens upon dozens of ducks that came in.  They all came in high and dive bombed the middle of the lake…just out of range.  Finally a nice group flew in range, and me and my hunting partner took 4…a Widgeon Drake and 3 Ring-neck drakes.  Most of the rest took flight after that, and it was pretty slow after that.  We ended with 8 for the day, adding in another Widgeon drake, a Gadwall hen, and 2 Ring-neck hens.  Most of the early ducks came in from the Southeast corner.  Bring a good dog (that likes mud) or a kayak if you’re going to hunt it, and be prepared to get muddy (MUDDY).  There is a 1’ thick mud layer that surrounds the entire lake for about 8’ out from shore, and goes all the way out into the lake.
