Guest and I fished from 12 to 5 on a sunny Saturday afternoon with air temps in 70’s with a moderate breeze.  Threw most of the tacklebox at them, caught 4, none of any size. Thought I was going to get skunked for the frist time this year but caught one walking the bank by the boat ramp. Lost one as it jumped out of the water as it was coming in - got to remember to keep the rod down. We knew we were in trouble when I looked down at the bottom of the boat shortly after pushing off and a 6 inch catfish was swimming around in three inches of water. How it got in I’ll never know. Yes, the plug was in. We had to beach the boat every hour to lift it up and dump the water out the back. Good thing I bring knee high boots with me every outing. After two or three times dumping water we decided to walk the bank. Later in the afternoon the owner came by on 4 wheeler with his kids. Told him the boat was leaking pretty good and he asknowledged it needed to be fixed. Bring a bilge pump or cut out gallon milk jug if you fish Malouf.

Thanks for the heads up on the boat leak. We have patched it twice this year and the patches are not working. The boat is probably 40 years old. It may have met its match as members have dragged it up and down the bank hundreds if not thousands of times. We are working on a solution for Spring.
