I fished Pecan Spring Ranch with my brother on Monday October 28th from 2pm until 6 pm. Due to Murphys law, we got a late start which was funny and sad because we had to keep going back to the house and still forgot my much needed rubber boots.
Here are a few pictures of the lake water level. The boat ramp is completely out of the water and its only 1 foot deep at the dam. Deepest water depth was only 8ft.
Need lots of rain at this site.
After arriving at the property late it still took us an hour to get my 14ft jon boat into the water which was a challenge. I think we’ll be feeling the effects of walking my boat 30 yards to a area on the bank where we did not end up knee deep in mud.
We fished for 2 hours and caught 3 catfish that weighed about 13lb and one small 10inch crappie. We spent 30 minutes of fishing time trying to wrestle a hug catfish into the boat that got tangled in one of the submerged trees that we had no ideal that was there. We eventually gave up and cut the line. Amazingly, my carrot stick rod did not break during the ordeal. Never did see the fish I only felt him pulling like a freight train.
We will be back to this property hopefully after some much needed rain.
