Member Shaun Cobb and I made our first trip to Gilmer Hat n Star on Saturday 10-19.  It was a pretty chilly morning as a front moved through the area.  We were in the midst of the Full moon phase…so I’m not sure if that helped or hurt.

We fished all day and caught a total of 11.  We harvested 9.  most of the fish were under 1lb…which really shocked us.  Cobb did boat a 4.29 though.

As a side note…we arrived at first light and did not find the boat at the boat ramp.  It was across the lake on the far side.  Way to far to lug our gear, so we drove the truck across the dam to where it was.

Beautiful lake and property.  We will mug ‘em next time.  But as they say…............“It was a beautiful day”.....and it truly was.
