Fingerling
A guest and I fished Trip J the morning of10/11 until about lunch. We planned to spend a full day there, but by noon the wind was getting bad with rolling waves and whitecaps!
The tank is down 6 or so feet. The submerged trees up by the house are no longer submerged. Still plenty of water to fish. Water clarity is typical Triple J, dingy, but not muddy.
We caught 17 bass, 2 crappie and 1 bluegill. All of the bass action was on the east bank between the old pool and the dam. Caught some early on frogs, crankbaits and spinners. Most of the action happened between 10-12pm with baby brushhogs and tx rigged worms. Watermelon red with tails dipped in bright green garlic scent were the key.
All of the bass were fat and nice - All were in the 2-3lb range, with a couple of 4’s and one pushing five. Very aggressive strikes.
Great morning overall. Still one of my favorites in Dallas, just need some rain!!
