Fished Timber by myself, caught about 20 fish, only a few dinks, solid as always, 5 fish sack about 16 lb.‘s, caught them all over the place, no specific pattern. Water clarify is about 5-6 feet, water is very clear right now. Fish look like they are fattening up. Good day, I love this place.

Glad you found them Jon.  Did you launch in the traditional spot or venture across the dam?  I’m headed out there tomorrow and think I may try the other side of the lake.

I launched across the dam, very easy, but I also hand launch, no trailer. Lake seems up a bit, maybe a foot. but still very low. Also, the coon-tail moss is starting to fade and die off, it has opened up more water. I caught them all over the place, but did notice bigger fish than normal in the backs of the two creek arms. Didn’t catch a pig, but overall solid fish.

I will echo Jon’s post above for yesterday’s fishing.  We also caught about 20 fish each but the fish have moved from before.  The deep timber held some but not all of the fish like here lately.  The fish are very scattered now, exactly as Jon pointed out.  Some fish look like summertime fish but most are more round and all have that thick back and great color.  The water clarity has gone back up like Jon said.  The grass isn’t so matted at the surface so hopefully it is shrinking back a bit.  The end of the drain pipe is completely visible on the dam which means we have to be 5 or 6 feet low by my estimation.  I got new mapping data recorded with the vegetation overlay so it will show some of the deeper brush that isn’t obvious to those of you with no electronics but to be honest, you can actually see the tops of the deep brush piles that hold so many fish in other times of the year. Let me know if you want to see what I’ve got.  The topwater bite is turning back on which is fun but most of the bigger fish were caught TX rigging and on cranks.  The boat launch across the lake is more steep that the normal one so use caution when launching a trailer.  That grass is slick and I was spinning all 4 wheels while pulling the trailer out as the trailer really sinks in that soft mud during the launch.  Be careful and as always, tight lines!
