Fished my first PWF property with guest Brett Olson.  We fished Deer Trail Saturday AM and really enjoyed the outing.  We didn’t know what to expect with the weather changes we had (rain and dropping temperatures) but we were pleasantly surprised.  Most of the fish we caught were in the 15”-18” range and looked healthy.  We caught 5 fish under 14” and harvested them.  The frog bite appeared like it was going to be the ticket but the bite didn’t last long.  We moved to soft plastics and chatterbaits without success.  By mid-morning, we started fishing in the middle of the lake with lipless crankbaits (baby bass, firetiger, sexy shad) and square bill crankbaits in sexy shad.  Those baits thrown in the middle of the lake and reeled above the grass seemed to be the ticket.

I like this lake and would definitely go back.  We used the v-bottom boat and it worked well and has no leaks.  With the water being low it does take two people to get it into the water.
