Trey Neal and I spent a full day on Hat and Star this past Saturday. We caught a total of 23 fish with only one over 16 inches (22 culled). Most of the fish caught were under 13 inches. We observed several large schools of small bass feeding on Midges and other small flies by the dam. There was no real pattern but we caught a majority of the fish at mid-day on crank baits. The largest fish was around 3 pounds, but should have been heavier as it was underweight for its size.
