Got on the water earlier than we needed to, around 6:15am.  We tore them up on buzz baits all morning all along the banks and even some in the timber.  Actually, they never really stopped hitting them; one of my last fish around 10:30 was on one!

The biggest fish came on flukes, with the two biggest being 3lb 8oz and my dad took the big fish prize with a 5lb 14oz.  Preferred color was watermelon/red flake.  These were caught in 8’-10’ of water in the middle of the timber.  For the day, we caught around 22.

I was at Lancaster about 3 weeks ago, and the water level has dropped even since then.  It is now extremely difficult to launch boats.  If you plan on fishing here before we get some serious rains, be sure to bring rubber boots.  If I hadn’t had mine, we wouldn’t have been able to get the boat in the water.

All in all another great morning at Malouf.  Just need some rain and lots of it to help out our lakes!

I think with second person it’s doable there was a spot to the right of the boat ramp where water drops off little deeper but you would have to carry it over there. Doable with second person just wasn’t up to it by myself. That lake very easy to launch by yourself when water up to ramp
