Mike and I fished from 1 to 7 pm on Saturday.  The fishing was good, even though there was a group there in the morning and we fished in the heat of the afternoon.  We caught 38 between the two of us, with only 3 of them harvest fish.  We caught a lot in the 18”-20” range - all very fat & healthy.  DD-22 deep diving crank baits worked very well.  We found the larger fish on the outside edges of the timber on the main part of the lake.  A Texas rig with trick worms also worked well, but lost some good ones when they wrapped up in the timber.  As everyone has previous said launching and particularly recovery are a challenge with the lake level down, even for us with our 8’ boats.  Wonderful lake, certainly one of our favorites.

My trick to pull my little boat out is to tie a rope to the boat and then to the trailer hitch and slowly pull it up that incline at the launch.

Good lake. You are a trooper to handle that heat…. You might be Amazon material….
