Fished this afternoon from 12:30-5:30. Caught about 10-12, largest was probably 3.5 lb’s., all fought good. Water is very low, thick vegetation around the edge. Fish were holding in the grass under the canopy. I caught them mostly on a square bill, running it deep as could get without getting hung in grass. Ghost minnow color.

Hey Jon,

I may be telling you something you already know, but 11 to 6 is really tough on Timber Lake for me.  I fish that lake quite a bit and do well really early in the mornings and later in the evenings.  That mid-day period is usually when I have to grind it out.  I completely understand that sometimes you can only go when you can go so it has to be that way.
Tight lines and I hope this helps,

Jackson

Thanks Jackson. I want to fish this property early morning, sun-up, someday if I can ever get out there. I want to take a Spro frog over those mats and watch em bust it! Nothing like a frog bite.

We fished yesterday out there and the story was the same.  Early morning bite was strong and around 11 the fishing tapers off which was fine because it was so hot.  The launch has gotten really difficult.  The grass beds that were two feet under the surface are now matted.  Getting the boat in is a challenge and getting out past the mats is another one.  This is the lowest I’ve seen the lake.  A thermocline has set up out deep and quite a few fish are suspending out over deep water.  We still boated crazy numbers of really healthy fish but we really need to pray for rain.  The frog bite has tapered off out there but they are still hitting just about anything else.
