Saturday I took my 9 yr old son, my best fishing and hunting buddy and his 2 boys for an all day fishing trip at Hat and Star.  The morning was sunny and hot, but we managed to boat 28 small bass (most btw 8 - 12 inches)  before going to lunch.  After lunch, dispite the sun still shinning, it rained for about 30.  Once the rain stopped, the clouds rolled in along with a slight breezy and within 30 minutes after lunch my buddy landed a nice 22 inch 4lb 8oz beauty, renewing the spirit of the youngsters hope of catching a 5 lb or better basss.  Unfortunately that didn’t hold as that was the only bass we caught that was big enough to release.  We ended the day with a total of 58 small bass and 3 wore out boys.  Good news is there are still plenty of PWF lakes left to explore.
