Guest Johnny Gill amd Bryan Durrett fished from 7 am to 11:30. We boated about 20 and all were over the 14 inch minimum. Largest 4 were each about 5 pounds. The typical fish here is 21/2 to 3 pounds and still seem to be on a crawdad bite. All were taken on jigs with crawdad trailers (blue in color) in deeper waters near timber. Top water action was not on even with bait fish moving near the dam…

Things slowed dramatically as the temperatures rose and we had very light winds.

Great lake and pretty easy to locate the fish. Suggest at least 30 pound test spider wire braid as they will wrap you up if you can’t mussle them out of the timber quickly getting the fish to run to deeper open waters….

Tight lines my friends and Happy 4th of July to all….

When I fish braid I use 65 lb braid. I have not had luck with 30 lb braid.
