Fingerling
Drove up to the property on Friday night to camp and get an early start on Saturday morning fishing. Was greeted with a note from the owner with numbers to call if had any problems getting up the hill on the way to the lake. Very nice first impression and, fortunately, I had no problems navigating the hill. Spent the hours before going to bed listening to two groups of coyotes baying to each other under a spectacular star studded sky. Was on the water at daylight and caught two 16-17 inch bass on Spro frogs within the first 30 minutes. Proceeded to strike out on swim baits, spinner baits and senkos. Then I switched to a bluegill crankbait. I tossed the crankbait into the trees and within 20 minutes I had four fish in the 20-22 inch range. Over the course of the morning I caught a total of 14 fish with the smallest at 16 inches and the largest slightly over 22 inches. An additional bonus was the wildlife. Saw three deer, two armadillos and a bobcat plus a number of red headed woodpeckers. Have to say that this lake is now my favorite of the PWF lakes.
