Fry
Fished Friday from 1PM until dusk with my brother. Only caught one (2lbs) up until about 5PM, but then it picked up and we caught 14 bass and one catfish before it was all over. Had one three pounder and one six pounder. Caught them on crankbaits, Senkos and Texas rigs.
The water was 4-5 feet low and there was no vegetation. Once the water reaches normal level, bank fishing might be pretty good because of all of the exposed roots along much of the shore.
The there is a nice looking, new, unpainted wood gate at the entrance. They were in the process of installing an electronic opening system, but we had to slide the gate open by hand after removing the chain on the left side. Also, the Buster boat is pretty nice, but I suggest bringing a couple of wrenches so you can move the seats back, if that is OK with the land owner. As they are right now, the front seat is so far forward you have to put your feet up on the front of the boat, rather than on the floor, which is quite a cramping situation, even for a skinny guy like me. The back seat could also be moved back, in my opinion, to create more room in the middle.
Overall a nice lake and a good experience.
