Beautiful afternoon of fishing at BlackJack. Landed 6 between 1 1/2 and 3 pounds. Lost 5 about the same size. 4 jumped and threw the worm at me and one made a dash for the weed line and broke off. I broke the line on two other ones that were not dinks either. Alll in all a great day, perfect weather, slight breeze. Fished all along the dam only. I did not catch any on topwaters. Used a 6 inch plum worm and 8 inch watermelon flake worrm with 5/0 hook. Watermelon worked best. I harvested 4 bass under 14 inches also. Lots of hits and miss too. Roy Cotton

Roy,
Might be time to change fishing line? I change mine every 4 to 5 months. If your line and or reels sit in the garage or boat you need to change line more often. I have moved to Seagur Flourocarbon 17 to 20 lb tes about 3 years ago for most applications. I buy the 1000 yard spools (less than $100) and store the spool in the a/c of my home. The 1000 yard spool lasts 6 months to a year, depending how many reels I am spooling. I get broke off very seldom any more. If you are not using a polomar knot, I highly recommend changing. But getting broke off 3 times in a day is either a knot issue, old line, or your drag is too tight, probably not giant fish. With a good knot, good line and proper drag setting you can land very big fish on light line.
