Toad
I fished this property on March 19th from 8 - 3:30. The water level is about 4ft below the pier. Grass was not that much of an issue on the lower end.
I have informed PWF that the boat has a small crack on the stern. I have marked it with a red marker. Duct tape will probably work for a quick fix. I need to add that to my supplies. Now for the details.
Conditions:
Water temp: 65
Air temp: 55 - 78
Slightly stained water
Wind did pick-up after lunch
I caught 9 with only 1 under 14” which I culled. The rest were 14-19”. The largest weighed just under 3lbs.
Successful lures:
Zara spook (1, lost 1)
Med diving crank ( pearl, black/chart.) (6)
MJ rig (I think that is what Timmy Horton called it) green (2, lost 1)
The MJ rig is a senko with a weighted or unweighted hook and the other end cut back about 1/2” with a small willow leaf blade attached to that end with a screw eye). This is a very good lure for weeds that also has good flash and noise.
Unsuccessful lures
Swallow diving cranks
Jerk baits
Rattle trap
Deep diving cranks
