My wife and I spent 2 incredible days on Saba this past weekend. Got there Friday at noon and started fishing around 1pm. It was cloudy, drizzly, and the water was 55 degrees.
3rd cast Pat caught a 3 pounder, then another, and another, and another…This went on for the rest of the day. Her biggest was 5lbs. mine 4.5lbs. only culled 3 fish Friday.
Saturday weather was supposed to be worse except the wind was going to blow. They got the wind right ,but the rest they missed. It actually got partly sunny and warmed up to about 78 degrees, water went to 58 degrees, the wind howled to 20-25mph. We could still fish easy enough. Pat caught a 6 pounder and my biggest was about 5. We culled more on Saturday, ended up with 15 culls and a total of 85 Bass.
Got treated to an awesome display of weather late Saturday afternoon. About 5pm the cold front we had been watching reached the lake, We loaded up and went back to the cabin and watched this raging beast of a storm as it approached the camp, then hit us with it’s furry, Hard rain, hail, wind, lightning, thunder, just an awesome storm. We sat in the cabin and watched it like TV. It was truly incredible! We also had a herd of 20 turkeys explode like a covey of quail as we were leaving the property Sunday. It was more than a fishing trip… it was REEL SOLITUDE…. Ken, great job on the boat and having everything ready for us. Your the best man. I’m already trying to find an opening to bring more guests to your beautiful Ranch. Pat loved the new stove.

Don,
Making my first trip to Waco Creek in a couple weeks. Sounds like you had a great time. Was there a dominant bait you caught most of those fish on?
