Fished Timber lake for the first time Saturday. This is a nice lake and it lives up to the name. Water temp was 55 degrees, and it appeared they have not yet moved all the way up in the creeks. We found fish in both creeks about half way up in about 4-6 foot of water. They were moving a bit slow, but we managed to do pretty well. We caught about 30 with 7 harvested that were about 12-13 inches. No Crappie. Nothing large. Biggest was about 3.5 lbs. All the bass were very healthy with really good color. I think with the warmer weather this week, the next couple of weeks could be really good. Can’t imagine fishing this lake without braid. Definitely fish this one again. Wish there was a cabin on this lake. We stayed at a cabin on the South side of Cooper lake State Park. About 15 miles away. Very basic, but clean. Good choice.
