I figured since it was supposed to be 80 degrees, I might try to make a day of it on the lake. 

Got on the water around 10 a.m. and was immediately blown to the North end of the lake.  Water temp as in the mid-50’s but I’m not positive it was an accurate reading.  I also had problems marking fish, so back to the drawing board with regards to my transducer mount.  Worked the banks and some of the structure with beetle spins and crank baits for about an hour and a half with not one hit.  I tied up a drop shot rig (first time I’ve ever done this) with the aid of my trusty iPhone and youtube.  It hit the bottom and I had a hit, same with the next cast.  Then an hour later I caught the third one.  Got tired of fighting the wind so I called it a day. 

Harvested 3 bass under 14”.  Saw lots of ducks.  Looks like they fixed or replaced the boat that had a bad drain plug last year.  Also have a nice new gate.  One of my favorite lakes, but haven’t cracked the fish code yet.
