Fished Jermar by myself in the morning, very windy, air temp 40 degrees. Caught 5 over 3 hours, ranged from pound and a half to 4.6 lbs. All hanging very tight to structure except one on the dam. Carolina rigged water melon seed baby brush hogs.

Then went and picked up my wife Amy (who’s learning how to fish) and headed over to China Grove for the afternoon. She caught her first bass! Fun day. Caught a total of 6 over about 3 hours, little bit of action on a Zara Spook but most of it on the same C-rigged brush hog.

Of note, the main lake at China Grove has a large amount of algae that is problematic. We spent some time on the 2nd smaller lake behind the A-frame where I caught a 2 pounder, but we spent the most time and had the most fun on the new lake that Devon has finished behind the main house (ie, behind the dam on your left as you come in the property). Amy found a hot spot along the dam, caught 4 fish and lost one more in 30 minutes, all between 2 and 3 pounds.
