Fingerling
Let me start off by saying anybody dumb enough to be fishing the morning 02/09 had to have a rough day!
Wind was blowing 15+ out of the Southeast and the truck said 43 degrees at the time I put the boat in the water.
Main lake is down 3-4 feet, but getting a boat in the water was no problem on the spillway. I stayed on the southern 1/2 of the tank trying to stay out of the wind. Water was 54 degrees and weeds are about normal for this time of year. I actually caught eight bass (nothing over 16”) but missed a few bigger strikes that didn’t hang. Water was stained, not muddy. Caught fish on jig/crawfish and tx rig worms. I only lasted in the boat until 10:00 am or so.
The landowner and I bank fished at the beaver pond for a while and both of us caught a few more - Water is down but easy access on foot to fish that and the lower portion of the main lake.
All the brush is cut up by the boat docks and club boats - No issues in getting to the boats if you don’t bring your own.
Just need some more rain and water temps closer to 60. Great property and hospitality.

Mark,
It was nice to meet you yesterday. Thanks for helping with the move of the duck blind. Also thanks to Bobby Greenwood and the the landowner; Jerry. It took all 4 of us to move that beast. Mark, I’ll see you in El Salto.
