When I pulled up and saw the cows standing, I had a feeling the big ones would be biting. I got to the ramp around 6:50 AM and unloaded my kayak—limited cell service out there, which was actually pretty nice. The water was warming up, so I headed straight for the dam. Caught a 2.5 lb bass pretty quickly, then about 10 minutes later landed a 5.5 lb on a 6th Sense skirted swivel jig with a MAG Boosa 8.0 shakey worm trailer.

Once it started heating up, I took a lunch break and watched the cows for a bit. There was a nice shady tree by the ramp, so I hung out there and took the opportunity to switch up my tackle due to the algae. The rest of the fish I caught were between 2 and 3.5 lbs. Ended up with 7 total, which was more than I expected for this time of year—especially that surprise 5.5 (88oz.)! 

Overall, it was a great first fishing trip at OZ Lake and with PWF. The location was easy to find and well-marked with signs. This was my first lake through the club, and I’m pumped to have landed some solid bass right out of the gate.
