Twenty one bass landed by two anglers in a morning in the heart of summer isn’t bad at all.  I’ve certainly done much, much worse.  Ron Dupree and I fished the morning at Rock Chimney and the action from the bank was pretty good before the sun got over the treeline.  We caught seven, all 2-3.5#, using chatterbaits and Whopper Plopper.  As soon as the sun got over the treeline it slowed way down.  We circled the lake about 5 times in the boat and caught 2-3 bass on each lap.  Most came from the eastern (deeper) side and none from the creeks.  All but a few of the bass were holding close to the bank and hit chatterbaits, underspins, ned rigs, or swim worms.  We each had a solid 4# fish. The quality and general health of the bass were very good. The water was its typical stained green but had dropped another 3” in the last month.  Visited with Mr. Stanley and left a little early before the skies opened up with some welcome rain.
