Fellow PWF member John Shepard and i arrived early at the sandpit and had a great day. We ended the day around 1:00 pm, just too hot for this old fat boy anymore but very satisfied with the quality and quantity this new property provides. Bass ranged from 12” to 22” (culled 10, avg size about 16” probably a dozen over 3lbs and biggest about 6lbs) very healthy. The crappie are big slab sized and you could load the boat if your targeting crappie. I caught about 5 on on a 2” flutter spoon i was using trying to catch bass. Despite the challenges the ramp presents its well worth the trip and experience, Plenty of bait balls to target, lots of humps, a few laydowns on the bank, some brush around the edges from the trees that surround the entire lake. Very steep banks on most of the lake but there is a shallow end on the west side and the transition from the deep to shallow is where we have had the most action.
