Got on the water about 8am. Water temp was 59 degrees and appeared to be at least 5’ low. Fairly dirty with visibility around 1-2 feet. The tops of the marked brush piles were just barely submerged. No vegetation to worry about anywhere that I fished. There was no wind and it was an absolutely beautiful morning. I watched four deer running around in the shallow water on the south side for about 20 minutes. Just like little kids splashing and having fun. That alone was worth the trip.
Crank baits were the bait of the day. Sexy shad and crawfish did the trick. Had some hits while jigging, but nothing landed. The first club lake I’ve fished where spinner baits didn’t do a thing. All the fish I caught and saw on the fish finder were between 8’-11’ of water and no real pattern. I worked the brush piles pretty hard with poor results.
Came off the water around 12:30. 5 crappies, 5 bass (no size at all to the bass).
