Ron Dupree and I fished Thorndale Bremmond for the second time this month and again failed to locate any larger bass.  For the morning, we landed 45 bass but 22 of these were harvested.  The returned fish ranged from 14” to maybe 18”.  While smaller bass had filled-out bellies, a number of the “larger” bass were noticeably skinny with concave bellies.  A couple of years ago, we landed a number of 5-6 lb bass and commented on how chunky they were. Now, none of the bass exceeded 3 lbs. Before 9AM, most of the bass were caught on moving baits (chatterbaits and underspins) but that quickly shifted to domination by “almost stationary” baits, dropshot, Ned rigs, and wacky worms. Most of the bass were hanging out at the outer weed line along the dam and later deeper on the flat east of the launch. There was little chasing activity and these bass didn’t sem to consider low-flying dragonflies as edible as we only saw a single bass jump for one.

The lake level continues to drop (approx 3-4” lower than 3 weeks ago) but the water is clean and green.

We found a “worm wallet” filled with soft plastics near the shoreline east of the launch and left it near the club boat.
