My friend and fellow member Mark Daugherty and I fished Blue Rock from 6:30am till he had to leave around 1:30pm then I took a long lunch break and came back out to fish from about 4pm to 8pm.  We did most of our damage in the morning.  Weather was awesome for early July with overcast skies all day, very little wind and mild temperatures around 90.  Water level was up at least a couple of feet as the normal launch area was under water.  We launched my Bass Raider from the end of the peninsula that was only about 1’ above water line.  There is a significant weedline surrounding the pond extending to the point where the sheer drop offs happen.  Water was murky green color with only about 1.5-2’ visibility and a steady 85 degrees all day.  We landed 34 fish with 1 dink, most between 1.5-2.5lbs, a few over 3 lbs, and 1 at 5lbs.  I had a decent frog bite in the morning, but missed more than caught.  I did manage to land a large bullfrog, and had several others agressively chase after my frog.  We junk fished all day but the biggest fish came on a scrounger head with a fluke.  We used my sonar and found several schools and bait balls off shore throughout the day.  They were all in the 5-10’ range of the water column out in the deep water.  We just couldn’t find any presentation they wanted with any consistency.  The most consistent producer especially for Mark was a Tx rigged lizard along the weed lines.  The owner Eric stopped by a couple of times to check on us and chat.  He even offered to let me fish Salt Lick in the afternoon as no one was on it.  He’s a good guy who works hard to give us the best fishing experiences!  After the long break, I got back on the water solo but just couldn’t find any agressive fish and the evening bite never really materialized.  I missed a couple blowups on the frog, no love on the Tx rig, and I managed a few small ones on a wacky rig to end the day then got off the water around 8pm.  Another fun and successful day of fishing at PWF.
